Magog, November 18, 2014 – At the recent Best Business Practices Show (Salon MPA), Conceptromec Export Inc., who specializes in the design and manufacturing of automated equipment, won the Jury “Coup de Coeur” award for having the audacity to question its methods and processes. The 22nd edition of the Salon MPA was held November 13th at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal.
More than 36 projects, selected by the Quebec Quality Movement were presented. The Salon MPA is the province’s annual get-together of quality and continuous improvement. A forum for knowledge where over 2500 managers, quality managers and trainers as well as continuous improvement and strategic workers meet annually, is a must!
The project for which Conceptromec Export Inc. won the “Coup de Coeur” award was a complete review the engineering department: the roles and responsibilities of each player, as well as the standardization of working methods and the establishment of a process for producing an innovative project. The project spanned an 18-month period with the contribution of the department’s team and ideas from all. The gains are significant: 90% reduction of delays in project delivery to manufacturing, 80% reduction of reworked parts and most importantly, the achievement of teamwork and cooperation within the departments.
Since 2011, Conceptromec Export Inc. has actively incorporated a culture of continuous improvement and best practices. Gains in recent years have enabled the company to be more productive as well as being an example in the region. “All business leaders in the Eastern Townships would become winners by applying continuous improvement practices,” says Stéphane Bégin, President of Conceptromec Export Inc.
